Why can't the seniors and disabled americans get a cost of living raise?How we going to live?

with groceries,gas ,electric going up how do u expect these americans live,here's an idea,the minamium wage is $7.75 hr X40hr wk=$310.00 weekX4.5weeks mth=$1,395.00 would be the average of disability,and since the majority of grandparents are raising there grandkids take out some sorta taxes so they can file taxes so they can get a earned income credit.I recieve around $900.00 a month and my light bill was $324.00 this month,I can't recieve medicaid or foodstamps due to they claim I recieve over the amount allowable by 60cents,I just want to know could the people in "WASHINGTON D.C." live off this a month?I didn't ask to be born with a disability but it was gods will.My relatives paid into social security and died before they reached the age of retirement or got denied benefits,I think that the medicaid program and foodstamp program should be overhauled and taken away from some of these people that can work"milking the system" and give it to the TRUE people that are in need of it.What would a person in our goverment do if they was put in our shoes for 30days?Could you survive,Also with the recession people have fell down on there luck I say do away with the credit score and go by a person job and residental history.
