Do i beleive my friend or is he playing me? helppp plzzzzzzzzz?

i like this girl and i REALLY THOUGHT she liked me back. but i told my friend today and he said "i dont think she likes you back dude."...i said whys that? he said "she just doesnt seem like the type of girl...." and didnt finihsh and he kept syaing like "i dont think she likes you"..what do i do? i really like this girl and im 80& sure that she likes me back too. so what do i do? how will i know for sure if she likes me? do i just go for itand ask her? somebody help meee
