I desperately need help proof-reading this quick insert...?!?!?
The biggest problem in Ethiopia and Africa as a whole is ethnocentrism. This is a root cause of the nation's wars, high death rate and poverty. Ethiopia has been the subject to these issues as well as disease and political corruption for the last forty years. As a result, the country is heavily dependent on foreign aid. Proper use of internal resources cannot be achieved when visionary leadership is yet to appear. The US Department of State strongly advises citizens to avoid travel near the Eritrean-Ethiopian border because of the military tensions in these areas. People are psychologically gearing up for war. An entire division of the Ethiopian Army has taken position near the Tigray region of Ethiopia. The Eritrean Army is waiting. Frequent attacks on innocent civilians are reported daily. Also, Ethiopia is facing the threat of an Islamic terrorist group, Al-Shabab, which has been accused of terrorist bombings that have taken the lives of many Ethiopian Citizens. The United Nations has imposed actions on the extremist group. In a country with more than eighty ethnic groups there is always hostility between ethnicities. Another example is the Oromo Liberation Front, a political group which wreaks havoc on Ethiopia (i.e., bombings, vandalizing, loitering) in attempt to get government recognition. Ethiopia is highly stratified into cles politically and socially. , discriminative policies and a corrupt government contribute to the weakness of the economy. The country lacks sufficient water and sanitation, causing high risks of hepatitis A, hepatitis E, typhoid fever, malaria, rabies, and meningococcal as well as a high rate of the Human Deficiency Virus (AIDS). Ethiopia currently ranks 170 out of 177 of the poorest countries on the Human Development Index. Half of its GDP depends on agricultural activity. The agricultural sector suffers because of poor cultivation techniques and frequent drought. Often there are electricity shortages in the main cities. Three nights a week there is no electricity.
